Shawn and Jessi moved to Portland in July of 2007 from Austin, TX with no real plan. All they knew was that they wanted to explore a new part of the country that had an abundance of outdoor opportunities.
The pair was surprised to find no clubs solely dedicated to Trailruning and Ultramarathon racing in the Portland Metro area, so was born....Trail Factor! Our intention is to make Trail Factor an amazing trail running and ultramarathoning resource and encourage those new to trail running to get out there and hit the dirt. Happy Trail Running.
The inseperable duo is currently pursuing another adventure, albeit back in Austin. There, they are members of another amazing trail and ultra running club, the
Texas Hill Country Trail Runners.

| Club Leaders: Ruben and Mallory |
| Ruben has been out in Portland running trails for two years now. His recently raced the Boston Marathon (unfortunately held on roads), and will be racing again in the Forest Park 50k, where he hopes to defend his title from 2008. Look for Ruben running on Mt. Tabor, his favorite running spot in town.
Mallory, a Portland native, competed at Portland State University on the cross-country and track teams. Coming off a 2nd place finish at the Hagg Lake 25k in February, she is looking to step up in distance for a fall marathon, perhaps Chicago.

| The Leif Gang: Alexa, Kim, and Todd |
| Alexa Martin is not a fast runner (nor does she play one on TV). But she loves to run trails and has "competed" in several trail races over the past three years. Her most notable accomplishment was finishing the Baker Lake 50K not too far south of the middle of the pack. Though coming back slowly from a series of weird injuries--please don't ask her about the file cabinet incident--she is looking forward to training for something "of length" this winter.
Kimberly Webb loves being in the mountains--whether it's running, hiking, biking, skiing, or climbing. Though she's worked for Search and Rescue in Colorado she still gets lost sometimes. But don't worry--since she works in the medical profession, there's a good chance she'll be able to keep you alive if you get lost with her. She ran track in high school and college, but now enjoys running trails at a nice and easy pace. She hopes to run her first 50K this winter. She grew up in North Carolina, and has a very cute southern accent to prove it.
Todd Bunce is a born-and-bred North Carolinian (which is not to say that he's inbred... though you do learn to not ask too many questions when you come from a Southern family). Despite years of intense effort, he still has a discernible accent. His current training goal is to complete the Eugene Marathon in 2010. Todd works at Oregon Health & Science University in the Information Technology Group and lives in Northeast Portland with his beautiful wife, Arwen, and their two cats - Nina and Jeremiah (also attractive).
